Pilgrimage III, 2009 (72 x 49)
A resident of southern Michigan for 25 years, Carlos Tobar has been an active member of the local arts community and has shown his work in both solo exhibits and group venues throughout Michigan, Toronto, and his native Ecuador. An alumnus of George Brown College - Toronto, he was self-employed as a graphic artist and printer until his retirement in 2004.
In 2010, Carlos entered Pilgrimage III (oil on canvas) in ArtPrize, a Grand Rapids, MI based art competition. His entry for ArtPrize 2011 entitled There's an Elephant in the Room will be displayed at the Louis Benton Steak House.
